What is the expanded perlite ?

Expanded perlite is produced by perlite expansion furnace, it is a kind of white granular material with a honeycomb structure inside which is made by preheating and instantaneous high temperature roasting. The principle is as follows: the perlite ore is crushed to form a certain size of ore. Thermal calcination, rapid heating (above 1000 °C), water vaporization in ore, expansion in softened vitreous ore containing sand, forming a porous structure, volume expansion 10-30 times of non-metallic mineral products.

Expanded perlite application areas

• (1) Architecture: insulation and heat insulation of building roofs and walls; lightweight aggregates of building materials.
• (2) Industrial: Dip-pressed hydrophobic perlite insulation board, sound absorbing panel, partition wall panel, fireproof panel, etc.
• (3) Deep cold, low temperature engineering insulation, industrial equipment, pipeline insulation, etc. (4) Agriculture and horticulture: soil improver, soilless culture substrate, pesticide retardation agent.
• (5) Others: filter aids, fillers, abrasive materials, slag materials for steel making processes, etc.
